This year Christmas is so very different
As I look across to see an empty chair
That was once filled with your presence
Sweet face, and laughter no longer there.

If the tears could but only bring you back
To help you once more find your way
You would be nestled safely beside me
Surrounded by us all this Christmas day.

I can still hear the bitter sweet echoes
That filled this house, and made it home
From room to room as my heart lingers
And memories fill me, like a river a flow.

Knowing we will one day again see you
And hear your laughter, with face aglow
When we too are no longer earthly bound
Until then taking comfort, you're not alone.

In my heart and mind I can only imagine
How you will spend Christmas this year
A celebration, with all gone before you
Most of all in the presence of Jesus this year!!
